Rafikï Coffee produces green coffee beans in Rwanda since 2017.
Ben Murenzi started the project after his family had survived the Genozide in Rwanda to support the local community, create more jobs for women and bring a positive part of Rwandan culture to Europe. He studied business at Edinburgh University and wanted to build a brand with strong social values and bring an ethical and tasty coffee to the consumer.
Rafikï means friend in Swahili and ‘with the help of friends’ is our motto. A product that gets produced with the help of friends in all aspects of the business and is then brought to you in order to be enjoyed together with your friends.
More Than Coffee
Rafiki is more than just a coffee brand. With each cup you make a difference by giving 1 pound to a Rwandan child, so it has access to education. We also support local entrepreneurs, such as …. and create jobs for local women.
Our mission is to bring a positive part of Rwandan culture to Europe. We would like to counteract some of the prejudice that still exists about Africa and show how rich, social and innovative some of the countries are. Rwanda, as opposed to most people’s perception can be described as the safest country in Afrika.
